Junior Studio design for a Princeton under construction. 2013.
Tasked to design a temporary arts pavilion for Princeton University, this pavilion was intended to provide a variety of malleable spaces that could accommodate the arts programs at Princeton. The pavilion comprises a conglomeration of umbrellas in a range of colors and base heights that form a continuous roof surface. The umbrellas can be placed in one of three positions in order to open or block spaces or to signal events. The translucent canopies of the umbrellas cast pools of color on the bases that shift and define larger active spaces throughout the day based on the sun's movement.
